Wilderness, 2018

This pair of mirrors was commissioned to compliment an existing sculpture garden that surrounds the Virginia Lake Winter Gardens Fernery in Saint Johns Hill, Whanganui, NZ.

They are reverse engraved and silvered on the to create an engraved mirror. The size of each is 750 x 450 mm, not including their wooden frames. The Gardens theme is ‘Looking at me, looking at you’. The work places the viewer in a world between pre colonial and contemporary, with the aim of creating thought around both.
